President

Jorge Highland

A strategic operations leader with twenty+ years of cross-sector experience scaling operations through data-driven management.  He has held senior leadership positions at start-ups, medium sized companies and non-profits and as a consultant to Fortune 500 clients on operations improvement and business intelligence projects.  Jorge has worked in financial services, technology, international development and education, with a focus on scaling small and medium enterprise operations. 

Jorge began his career in technology with PwC as a data analytics and operations consultant where he built models and business intelligence applications to help financial services, manufacturing, technology and healthcare clients make better operational decisions.

He went on to work as a non-profit leader in the international development and education sectors working to scale sustainable business models to drive social impact. As head of strategy at Grameen Foundation he worked to incubate and scale businesses that provided access to financing and mobile information services for the worlds’ poorest people.  Later he worked at KIPP Foundation, supporting a network of over 150 charter schools in the US, to build business operating models that eliminated the need for philanthropic resources.

He returned to the private sector, to lead lending and fraud operations at OnDeck Capital, a small business online lender. He joined the company as a start-up and helped to scaled its operations in preparation for its IPO.  At On Deck, he worked to bring teams, technology and data together to automate the operation and triple the volume of loans originated by the company to over 80K small businesses in the US and Canada.

Following the OnDeck IPO, Jorge joined Lyft where he managed the company’s operations of the mid-Atlantic market, which including two top 10 airport operations, including during the turbulence of early COVID-19 pandemic which had a disproportionate impact on the operations of the ride sharing sector.

After Lyft, Jorge joined Groundspeed, an insuretech start-up focused on using AI and Human-in-the-Loop data labeling services to structure commercial insurance data to improve the operations of major carriers and brokers in the US and Europe

Now at bitsOPS Solutions, his strategy, operations and analytics expertise combined with decades of hands-on leadership and change management experience across sectors, gives Jorge a unique perspective when partnering with clients to solve their unique business challenges

Jorge holds a BS in Strategic Operations Management and Information Systems from Boston College and a MS in International Business and Finance from Georgetown University. He resides in Washington D.C.
